On Fromm's Art of Loving

While watching a TV program on Fromm's the Art of Loving, I realized that there's such a book and how difficult it is to love and to be loved in modern times: In the Middle Ages, someone says, people met less than 100 people, but now we met far more than 100 people: There must be much more chances to meet good people to love, but we may feel exhausted to find such ones. Internet doesn't make us close together, but rather ends up making us lonely, insular, egoistic and fascist. Oh, I'd like to read this thin book, but it looks so deep that I can't be sure to finish.　

フロム『愛するということ』に関するテレビ番組を見て、私はこのような本が存在し、現代においていかに愛し愛されることが難しいのかを実感した。中世で は、ある人が言ってたが、１００人も会うことがなかったが、現代では１００人以上の人と会う。愛すべき人と出会う確率ははるかに高いに違いないが、我々は そんな人を探すのに疲れ切ってるようである。インターネットは我々を親しくさせるよりも、むしろ独りぼっちで、内向的で、利己的で国家主義的にさせてい る。この薄い本を読んでみたいが、読み終えるには内容が深すぎる・・・
