Mr Abe's Choice

Which is better, to try and then fail, or to not try and then not fail? Asked why Japan has been so stagnant, I reply, they've chosen the latter for long. This time Mr Abe, I guess, chose the former and, I hope, it must be a very good choice for us.

挑戦して失敗するか、挑戦しないで失敗しないか。どっちがいいか。日本はなぜそんなに停滞しているのか聞かれると、日本人は後者を選択してきたからと答えている。しかし安倍さんは、前者を選択したかのように見える。私はそれは日本にとっては良い選択かもしれないと考えている。
